MovieWriterPro Examine App

Bought it years ago but

I bought this years ago. Went to redownload it from the purchased menu, and it tells me I have to buy the new version, when I should just be able to at least download the old version I paid for. I don’t need to use this janky software anyway. I just wanted to see if it could work in a pinch. Now I remember why I deleted it originally.

Run away!

This software is very easy to use. You can put your character profiles in. You can also build a library of settings. Once you get used to the quick key commands, it is easy to write a screenplay quickly. That being said, I can't print the screenplay in MovieWriter. I can't export it as a PDF. If I open it in Microsoft Word, I can't affect the margins. So basically I'm printing 100 pages of screenplay that is two inches wide. The only thing I can do is open it in TextEdit (and who the heck uses TextEdit??). I basically have to import it, clean it up in another program, and then print it. So, I feel like I built a car inside my living room and I can't get it out. I tried emailing tech support five days ago, but I have not heard back from them.

Beginner Friendly!

This is my first time writing a screenplay, and for formatting and guidance I don’t really see how you could do much better. My biggest gripe about this software is that it keeps crashing!!!! This is only my second day using it, and it didn’t crash at all yesterday. I read earlier reviews (from 2011 & 2012) saying it crashed for them as well but I didn’t think that problem would still exist. I WAS WRONG. As long as the developers address the crashing issue, I will have no complaints about the program. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -EDITED REVIEW- It’s been over a month since the developers updated this app— DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY. Buy Slugline or another high-rated program instead. I bought Slugline and haven’t regretted it for a moment.

SCAM!!!

The app won't even open.

I love it, with one exeption!

This app is great! I love it and it really helps you get to know characters and places and it forces you to describe characters even if they only have one line. But it tends to crash on you (well I am using Snow Leapord so that may be a problem) and so you have to save frequently, I would reccomend and autosave.
